Employment and Training

Bookdonors Team

·  We have a team comprising of paid staff, volunteers, home-based staff members and people on training placements from several organisations.

·  Our integrated team provides the support necessary to assist people with a wide range of disabilities on an equal basis. Most paid staff began their involvement with Bookdonors as volunteers or trainees.

Thankfully there are a vast array of jobs to do… 

and this, naturally, fits in with our inclusive employment framework. The various jobs range from the initial sorting and grading of the books to pre-scanning and final data entry.

We have home-based members of staff who price the books and the books are then ready to be ordered from AMAZON and ABEBOOKS websites.

Once ordered books are assessed by a member of staff trained in Quality Assurance. Customers' book orders are then carefully wrapped. As well as these positions we have dedicated members of staff in our Customer Service department. 

Training and Development

Training is provided for every position within our company. Where possible, members of the team are trained in a number of different tasks. All our experienced staff members can provide training to a new member of the team and are also there to advise and support all other members of the team. 

Bookdonors has a friendly working environment. Our aim is to build up people's confidence through a welcoming, yet structured work setting. This is beneficial to us all, but especially to trainees, whose confidence and employability is often, perceivably improved.
