Reusing & Recycling Unwanted Books

In 2008, we processed a staggering 420 tonnes of unwanted books!!!

Each book is reused, where possible, through selling the book on the internet, or by giving it away for free through our Books For All Scheme. All others are recycled: None go to landfill!

Bookdonors collaborates with several local Councils' Waste Management teams; the Scottish membership organisation, 'Community Recycling Network for Scotland', and many recycling enterprises, such as Recycling First in East Lothian and Changeworks in Edinburgh. This maximises the tonnage diverted from landfill and is of benefit with regards to
'green miles'.

We are also part of the national Waste Aware campaign.
